Welcome to the Canadian Forum for Social Innovation!

The next edition of the Canadian Forum for Social Innovation will be hosted by Dalhousie University in Halifax, 2-4 June 2025.

Since 2022 the Canadian Forum for Social Innovation is convening stakeholders from higher education, the social sector, municipal, provincial and federal governments and community nonprofits for panels, catalyst roundtables, deliberative dialogues and concertation workshops. Building on emerging consensus and a wealth of additional evidence, and  with the support of valued partners, the guidance of its advisory committee, and the stewardship of the Canadian Collaborative of Society, Innovation and Policy @McMaster University, the Canadian Forum for Social Innovation convenes a national dialogue around key issues around social prosperity and wealth-generating innovation.

In 2024, the Canadian Forum for social innovation leveraged prospective co-design and backcasting methodologies in a series of deliberative workshops in Toronto, Ottawa/Wakefield, Montréal, and Calgary, and collected input from 95 key actors to structure the problem, build a vision and fine-tune the milestones proposed to create a roadmap for Canada’s innovation ecosystem.

In June 2024, 125 delegates and participants collaborated to identify priorities, Take ownership of the vision, set priorities, identify actors to be engaged, reflect on the mechanisms necessary to promote concerted action, and initiate the elaboration of an action plan.
